Wunderglot.com is the controller of your personal data. You can reach us about anything in this policy, including any privacy request, through our contact form.

• Account data: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google shares with us.
• Learning data: the words and phrases you look up, the flashcards you save and your study progress.
• Usage data: when and how often you use each feature, the platform and app version you use, and technical data such as your IP address and browser or device type.
• Profile answers: optional details you choose to give, such as your country, age group, gender, why you are learning and how you found us.
• Purchase data: your plan, subscription status and transaction records. Payment details such as card numbers are handled by the app store or payment provider and never reach us.
• Messages: what you send us through the contact form, including your name and email address.

• To provide the Service, including your account, lookups, flashcards, usage limits and paid plans, as needed to perform our contract with you.
• To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and enforce our Terms, based on our legitimate interest in protecting the Service and its users.
• To understand how the Service is used and to improve it, based on our legitimate interest in developing the Service.
• To answer your messages and send you service notices, such as changes to our Terms, as part of our contract or based on our legitimate interest.
• To send you news about the Service, only if you opt in, based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• To keep records and meet legal obligations, such as tax rules.

We do not sell your personal data and do not use it for advertising.

When you look up a word or phrase, we send your input to AI models on Google Cloud to generate the result. Google processes it on our behalf and does not use it to train its models. We store generated results and may show them to other users who make the same request, without anything that identifies you, so please don’t include personal information in your lookups.

• Service providers that process data on our behalf under contract, mainly Google Cloud and Firebase for hosting, storage, sign-in and AI.
• App stores and payment providers, when you buy a paid plan through them.
• Authorities and others, where the law requires it or where needed to protect our rights, users or the public.
• A buyer or successor, if the Service is sold, merged or otherwise transferred.

Our providers store and process data in the United States and other countries. When data leaves the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

We keep personal data for as long as we need it for the purposes above, generally for as long as you have an account. When your account is deleted, we delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable time, except where we need to keep it longer, for example for legal, tax, security or dispute reasons. We may keep anonymized data indefinitely.

We only use cookies and similar storage that the Service needs to work, such as keeping you signed in and remembering your settings. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To use these rights, send us a request through our contact form. We may need to confirm your identity first. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

The Service is not meant for children under 13, or under the minimum age that applies in their country. We do not knowingly collect their personal data and delete it if we learn that we have.

We protect your data with reasonable technical and organizational measures, but no online service can be completely secure.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland

The legal basis for each use of your data is listed under How we use it. Where we rely on our legitimate interests, you have the right to object at any time.

United States

If you live in California or another state with a consumer privacy law, you have the right to know what personal data we collect, use and disclose, and to access, correct and delete it. We collect the categories listed under What we collect, for the purposes under How we use it, and disclose them only as described under Who we share it with. We do not sell or share personal data for targeted advertising, and we do not use sensitive personal data to infer characteristics about you. You may use an authorized agent, and we will not treat you differently for using your rights.

Other countries

If you live elsewhere, such as in Brazil, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea or India, you have the rights your local privacy law gives you and can use them as described under Your rights.

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will let you know in the Service or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
